
Harry Bernstein,

Harry Bernstein has been involved with fundraisers for over 30 years. As Jaycee President of his local chapter, he helped organize and conduct the first ever “WALK” on the east coast, raising monies to open a swimming pool for the disadvantaged.
Harry, who was Teacher of the Year in 1986 in the Woodbridge School District, where he served as a Crisis/Drug and Alcohol Coordinator, conducted Coffee House, Talent Show fundraisers that helped fund Project Graduation Programs.
In January 2003, Harry organized 14 Jewish temples and organizations, and conducted a spirited “Raise Our Voices for Israel” songfest and vendor fair. The sell out gathering raised $40,000 for security guards to protect Israeli children and Operation Promise. Since then “Raise our Voices” concerts have gone over the $100,000 mark.
Accomplishments:
- Chaired the “Run for Shelter” marathon run which helped fund a Nursing Home.
- Chaired a project to raise monies to help rebuild Newark after the 1969 riots.
- As President of the Middlesex/Union County MADD organization, he raised funds to donate flashlight breathalyzers to interested Police Departments.
- As Co-Chairman with Dave Bixel, of his county Heart Fund Drive, a record was set for the most money raised.
- Worked many years on Dave Bixel’s earlier Fundraisers in New York City, which raised $1 million dollars in a weekend.
- Past Chairman of Security for the Hand-in-Hand Festival for Retarded People.
- Established Positive Self Esteem Groups in 16 elementary schools.
- As Jaycee President, helped to start and conduct Project BOY, for the fatherless boys in his town.
- Directed a play for Project Understanding, a racial study group
- His band donates time to many non-profit fund-raising events.
- Chaired the Association of Multiply Impaired and Blind Fund Raising Dinner in 2001, which brought in over $30,000 in an evening.
- Coordinates phone campaigns, most recently for St. Joseph’s High School and the Capuchins.
- Has recently worked on Capital Campaigns with the NJ Veterinarians Association, and the Elizabethport Presbyterian Center.
- Continues to assist with the Day Care Center of Somerset County, raising funds for Alzheimers research.
An aggressive fundraiser, Harry Bernstein believes strongly in his clients’ causes; he looks forward to raising much-needed funds for important causes.
